On the wedding day, we always take charge of pinning boutonnieres on the gentlemen. It's come to my attention though, over and over, that this a daunting task for many! Once you pin a few, you'll be a seasoned pro. I like to always use two straight pins, one going down into the stem, and one pointing up to give the boutonniere extra security to stay in place. This video only shows pinning with one straight pin, but is a good, quick reference for anyone who may have this task at a wedding.

Spring is in the air! The weather is warming up, flowers are blooming, and it’s the perfect time of year to get married. This week is all about finding inspiration for your spring themed wedding. Bright, fun colors and flowers by the plenty come to mind. Here are five springtime items I am loving right now:
Go for a mixed bouquet with bright colors and lots of different textures.
Shoot for an outdoor reception, maybe in a garden or on a great lawn. It will give your wedding that springtime garden feel. Why not play some lawn games while you’re at it? Your guests will love to play a little croquet during cocktail hour.
Go for a dress with feminine touches like flowers and soft fabrics like organza and lace.
Try to mix some wild flowers into your centerpieces. It will give off that freshly picked from the garden look.
Give your guests spring-themed favors like these mini potted plants or herbs they can grow at home.

I am just loving the more natural, "loosely" arranged bouquets I am seeing all over! For the bride who likes things a little less polished with lots of unique style, these bouquets are absolutely perfect. And don't be afraid to experiment with pops of color to play up the drama, depth, and texture.
Love the different heights of flowers, greenery and FEATHERS in this one!

I just love real wedding posts. I love reliving wedding day moments through photographs, and then sharing them with you so that you can see what our Tickled Pink Brides experience on their wedding days. Whitney and Ben were such a fun couple that live out of state but celebrated their wedding weekend at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando. Whitney's quick, witty, and hilarious personality made planning the wedding with her so much fun, and her parents will always be some of my favorite MOB and FOB characters.
Whitney's color scheme was black, white and green, with a touch of bling for good measure (check out the rhinestones on the bridal bouquet stem holder!). The entire event was intimate and elegant, but far from stuffy as this group knew how to party! Unique details like a black aisle runner amidst an otherwise white wedding ceremony, amazing black and silver table linens, pops of green orchids in each bouquet, and a last dance that finished with a shower of confetti made this wedding one to remember. This week we're showing off some various wedding trends that make us smile. Across the board, we love for weddings to feel personal and intimate, even if your guest list seems to have gone sky high.
Terrariums make beautiful centerpieces, and are even more exciting when guests get to take home mini versions that double as place cards.
Serve a family-style dinner where guests will interact more with those around them. Place banquet tables end-to-end and dress them with festive runners and low centerpieces to encourage chatting across the table.
There's no rule that says bridesmaids must wear dresses. Skirts and blouses are a modern alternative.
Use serving pieces and decor you already have. Grandma's cake serving set and crystal toasting flutes...lace table runners your mom happens to have...the cake topper from your parents' wedding. Even having one or two things that you or your family already owns will save you money and make your wedding feel a little more cozy.

Who says bridal bouquets have to be white? There are varying opinions depending on who you ask. Some say the bride's bouquet should be white or ivory so as not to detract from the beauty of the bride and her gown. Others (like me) say add a pop of color whereever you want it, just remember that these pictures will last a lifetime and your overall look, including what you are holding, will make a statement about you. I've pulled together five of my favorite bouquets from around the web that are bold, beautiful, and work oh-so-well for 2012 weddings.

The Gasparilla Inn's Beach Club in Boca Grande was the perfect venue for Jaeann and Blair's beachside wedding. Their sea-loving families were right at home with the gorgeous beach backdrop, driving golf carts around quiet Gasparilla, and watching the couple depart by fishing boat at the end of the evening. Photographer Caroline Johnson sent over these amazing images that captured the feel of the day and showed off all the thoughtfulness and effort Jaeann and Blair put into creating their dream day. Thanks also to Botanica International Design Studio who outfitted the bridal party with tropical orchids and took care of all of the event floral and decor. Enjoy!

Recently, we coordinated a wedding that had us oohing and aahing over every detail! The beautiful and oh-so-chic bride, Lily, chose a palette of pink and slate gray for a romantic vibe that worked well at their ceremony venue, Knowles Chapel in Winter Park, FL , to their sleek and modern reception at the Orlando Museum of Art. Encore Decor out of DC collaborated with Suzanne Nichols Design Group to create beautiful tablescapes complete with candelabras, ice Chiavari chairs, and pintuck gray linens. Arthur's Catering outdid themselves with an impeccable dinner and Sweet by Holly's cupcakes were so popular there were barely any left to send home with the bride! Soundwave DJ brought the party to life and there was never a moment when the dance floor was empty. Besides the decor, my favorite part of this wedding were the special toasts that the bride and groom gave, thanking everyone involved for their love and support. It was clear that this event was such a joyous occasion for the two families and we were so glad to be a part of it!
Lily found her photographer, Sharon of Smitten Photography, on the Style Me Pretty blog and was instantly hooked on her work. Sharon flew in from Denver to photograph the event and we all loved working with her. Not surprisingly, these wedding photos made it to a feature on Style Me Pretty, and we are so proud to be able to show them to you!

In December 2010, Diana and Phil were married at the Omni ChampionsGate in Orlando, FL. Originally, Diana's vision was an outdoor wedding and she had little interest in flowers. All that changed when Diana and Phil found that the Omni would be the perfect venue for their guest list of 200, and again upon our meeting with Tommy Murphy of Greenery Productions, where we created a beautiful and romantic color scheme of pinks and greens.
The ceremony was held at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL. Bridal party was transported by shuttles and Diana and Phil in a vintage Rolls Royce from VIP Transportation back to the Omni for cocktails then dinner and dancing in the National Ballroom. Diana's choice of silver candelabra centerpieces played up the romantic, vintage vibe, complete with lots of candles, mercury glass, and mixed metallics of silver and gold.
Binary Flips Photography and Simply Cinematic Videography captured every moment of the day. Simone from Makeover Station made all the ladies look gorgeous with flawless hair and makeup. The five-tiered cake (shown below) was by Party Flavors, and featured the same pattern as Diana and Phil's wedding china. Jeff with White Rose Entertainment provided the best music and he even brought along additional DJs to mix music live. It was truly a party atmosphere the later the evening went! We even had Candy Clouds cotton candy made on site in the last hours of the reception which made the whole ballroom smell delicious!

On the day after Thanksgiving 2010, Lindsay and David were married in a delightful, very family oriented wedding at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island. Tickled Pink was there to coordinate the evening ceremony and reception. A big afternoon storm rolled in just an hour before the ceremony, finishing up just in time to reset the chairs and altar arrangements and leaving us with a beautiful sunset and clear skies. The best part, Lindsay didn't even flinch, knowing that at the end of the day she'd be married and we would make it happen one way or another!
The ceremony took place along the river with a view of boats in the harbor. Guests moved to an outdoor terrace for cocktails and a modern guitar and violin duo by Bella Musica. Inside the unique reception venue, a plated dinner was served, followed by a beautiful wedding cake, ice cream sundae bar, and customized Gator cookie favors at the end of the night.
Our vendor team consisted of Jason Angelini Photography (all photos below), Chad Whelan videography, Redman Steele Floral Design, Cari of Kyle Lynn Weddings hair and makeup, Sword Sounds dj who kept guests on the floor all night, and the wedding cake and favors from A Piece of Cake. Each of these vendors worked together so well and did an outstanding job. We'd recommend them all!
